Goals and Stuff

So I have been talking to Mike and by looking at a few comments I've decided to give everyone Sunday off. Don't worry about doing any of the goals on Sunday (unless you want to and then great!) So from here on out Sunday is your day of rest. If you happen to get on the blog today you lucked out because today you can eat sugar if you want and don't have to do your sit-ups. This also means that some of the goals might start getting a little harder.
I also think that there has been some confusion about the contest that is going on. In order to win the contest for the airline tickets you need to do the goals every week. If you only do 2 of the 3 goals of the week you are out of the contest. That doesn't mean you should stop doing the goals. I think my dad wants to have another contest that will involve the final results for everyone. We are just going to see who can go the longest doing ALL the goals without breaking for this contest.

With all that in mind here are the new goals for March 31-April 5.

1. Work out at least 3 hours this week. Walking to and from your car, around the house, or at work doesn't count. This has to be an actual time that was set aside to "work-out."

2. 5 fruits and/or veggies a day. This is a goal I think we should all still try to do on Sunday.

3. No Caffeine or Carbonation 5 out of the 7 days. For this goal if you would rather take a different day off then Sunday that's fine.

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. My dad comes back in town tomorrow and he'll be back to help with goals. Any ideas for goals, please feel free to post them.

Yay, I'm a sunday blogger so I get sugar. The goals sound good. I hope I can hang in there on the caffeine/carbonation one. I know I completely bombed last week and didn't last on the fast food thing. I'm a sucker for fast food. It's just way too convenient when I'm in a hurry.

I think Sunday off is a great idea!!! So if the goal is 5 out of 7 days does that really mean 4 out of 6, or does Sunday count? I'm not trying to slack off, I can do 5 of 7 I just wanted to clarify so I don't accidentally kick myself out of this contest. I really want those plant tickets!!!
Can I just say the no sugar thing last week was almost the death of me. I went to a wedding with chocolate covered strawberries and wedding cake and had to say no. Then I was in the car with 5 other people who got frosties from Wendy's and I had to just drink my water. Frustrating at the time but worth it in the end!

One more thing....if we were competing for the plane tickets we would have had to of started on March 17th and have done all of the goals since then...right???? Just a shout out for those of you I know trying really hard to accomomplish the goals and win those tickets....NOT ME.

It is still 5 out of the 7 days. In the 5 out of the 7 days goal you can use Sunday as a day off or you can pick a different day that you want off. Also I told everyone that we could start the goals on the 24th for the tickets since people didn't get the message in time to start the 17th. So last week was the real first week for the airline tickets.

Are Alyson, Kelsey, Grandma Shauna and I the only ones left? Did I just get someone ticked off? If I didn't say your name I am sorry. I did all of my goals last week and I know this week will be my challenge. I will succeed however, because I would love to go someplace. Sorry about the arrogance but I have to talk myself up in my head to keep this up. Is there anyone out there who would like to start a little running challenge on the side just for the sake of running. No awards or anything I just wish I could run a longer distance and obviously the competition drives me. I don't know, any takers? Let me know.

I wish I could run, I would do it with ya in a heartbeat. The best way to start running long distances is to split it. You start running 2 minutes and then walk 5 minutes..Next day, running 3minutes and walk 4 minutes and then just widdle your way down. I got that little tip from a marathon training website. It worked for me!!!
So even though I can't compete with ya, there's a helpful tip to help ya out! I bet Aaron would do it with you.

Natalie-
I'll do the running thing with you. I really need to start running more. I hate it but I know it's so good for me. I also would love to run a marathon one day so lets get started. E-mail me and we can get something going. kaprocks@hotmail.com. Anyone else up to the challenge?
