Twas the Week After Christmas

'Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibble, the eggnog I'd taste At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt
I said to myself, as I only can "You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"
So away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished "Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie - not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Please tell me you found this poem and that you are not this good. The healthy living thing is a great idea but more than anything I love getting on every day and seeing what the whole family is up to. I have done the exercise thing and the water thing and I have to say that last night at 1:30 a.m.I was still awake finishing my water intake. How sad is that? Baby steps I guess.

Call out to Randy----Randy Peck where are you and why have you not commented? I guess your line of work doesn't require checking your e-mails everyday.

This water thing is way hard for me. The one thing I can say though, is that it's cutting down on my Diet Coke intake which is a good thing. I felt pregnant last night. I think all of my water intake hit me throughout the night. Yep, up all night going potty!

Oh yeah, Nicole- I don't like playing the one-up game but I can so one up you. I weigh more than you so I have to drink more water than you, and I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!
It's good though, I think in the end it will keep my water retention down.

I feel sorry for all of you, I have to drink the maximum amount of water so I am going to the potty all day long. However, I have not had a diet coke since Mexico and have no desire with all of the water. Actually, I am starting to enjoy all the water because it makes me less hungry. Looking forward for week 2
