I am going to try to make a Letterman top 10 list regarding our vacation to Mexico. Will each of you post something to the blog regrading 1 - Most memorable event or activity of the trip 2- Event or activity that was most humerous. You can include more than 1 thing for each category if you have more than 1. Each person will get an extra point in the competition if they come up with one or more top ten suggestions.

As far as actvities I guess I would have to say that painting was definitely up there as a top ten. For humorous I would say the night at the show when Grandma Mare gave us all a few laughs(if you know what I mean:)! This might not count because not all of us saw it, but to me watching the big, beefy football player trying to pick up on Jocelyn at the pool as Shane was sitting right behind her listening to the whole conversation. That way pretty funny! I'll keep thinking of more. Nicole

Oh I just remembered a great one-The night when we were playing NERTS and Connor fell back thinking that his chair was still there, but wasn't. Those Pecks are definitely competitors. Go Connor!

I'd say my most memorable moment was watching our reptile friends get their first taste of freedom in the dramatic and moving Turtle Liberation. Jennie

One of my most memorable experiences was babysitting 10 of our grandchildren with Jim in our hotel room, and later with lots of kind helpers at the restaurant. It got humorous when we were all in the room watching 101 Dalmations in Spanish and the 2 babies both needed changing and the 3-three year old boys decided they all wanted the same spot on the bed to watch the show.
Jim says, top ten moment was the emotional relief of seeing Nicole and her kids finally make it after their nightmare in Mexico City. Humorous moment was when Papa went to el doctor and received some personal advice for recovery. (it can't be repeated on the blog - but, trust me it was hilarious)

For our little family watching Carter get down on the stage was memorable, the humorous part was him wondering why it was time to leave when the girls were dancing in practically nothing, he was glued to the stage which is exactly why it was time to leave. Another humorous, strange, creepy memory was the fact that crocodiles were roaming freely off the beach. We definately weren't in Kansas anymore-Can you imagine thet off the shore in the U.S.?

I would defiantly have to agree with Nicole on the whole Connor and Grandma situation. I think that Reiley and Aaron got a little more then they bargained for from Grandma and I am quite proud of my little brother. However the funniest thing I think happened I am sure most of you have not heard of nor is it appropriate to put on the blog. Jocelyn and Chelsea got a free jet ski ride and all I can say is two free hamburgers and two cute American girls makes one very happy Mexican!

My most memorable moment, or let's say the one that most affected me, was when all the uncles and aunts sat around in speedos and bikinis and decided to start this weight loss program! The activity I enjoyed most was making mii's of my family while they were gone. And the most humorous was when Andy volunteered me to drive my family to the airport at 5 am. I told him if I did then I was going too. He drove.

The New Year's Eve Mexican Band's rendition of Stayin' Alive is deserving of at least one vote for "memorable." For me the greatest part about any of our family trips is the abundance of opportunity you have to visit with someone you really care about and someone who you know really cares about you. Nothing makes me more happy. That's also what makes this website so much fun.

Catching our big old Sail fish was for me memorable. I think everyone that went would agree we had good time fishing, seeing the dolphins, hangin out with Hector and the dude with the club, and enjoying what seemed to be the middle of the Pacific.

One of my most memorable activities is wind sailing on the ocean and then snorkeling on the Island off of Ixtapa, after swimming over there one morning when all of you were still sleeping -- Just kidding. For me my most memorable activity would be (guess?)Yup, painting colorful chiles on pottery, signing my initials like only I can, while listening to Randy crack jokes.
(By the way, I used my Mexican ware just the other evening at a neighborhood party). Some of my favorite times while on the trip was sitting at breakfast with Randy and seeing who else might stop by. I looked forward to that every morning. I loved visiting with who ever happened to come by.

Let's see -- most humerous -- I laughed pretty hard when Randy said it only takes Susan a day to lose her weight -- for some reason that just hit my funny bone.

My most stressful moment was when Nicole called and said she was stuck in Mexico and Dave decided he was going to take Aaron and pick her up in a country with no rules. I tried to keep calm and said numerous prayers in a very short time -- one being that Nicole would get a flight out and the other was if my husband took my son across Mexico they would live to tell the story. Yup! That was a top ten stressful moment for me. The next stressful moment was me babysitting my grandkids -- let's see, Collin wanted his mother the whole time. I couldn't carry him without having CPR and my back adjusted. Cara fell and I thought she'd done major damage --that was the end of her fun etc., etc, Thank Heaven for Shane and his games and all of the cousins and other Aunts and Uncles that saved my life that night.

I just want to say that I love this blog.stuff. It is a great way to keep the family close -- even though we are spread all over the United States this site brings us all close together. I'm just wondering if Grandma & Papa are able to view any of this????

Oh, I also loved riding the bus into town -- brought back a few good memories of my mission in Central America. Talke with ya later! Love ~~ Shauna

Okay-so this is for sure my hardest week yet. I haven't failed but I have for sure wanted to. I haven't had a hard time with the veggies at all but the sugar thing is hard. I was never a big sugar eater before but I think my mind is playing tricks on me because I know I can't have them. So-what has saved us this week is sugar-free jello and pudding to stop our sweet tooth cravings. We haven't failed yet and I am not about to let this be the reason. So Shane, that being said, what is the Super Bowl Sunday game plan (as far as our eating)? I hope that big heart of yours decides to make it a free day (hint, hint). Also, I lost four pounds and I gained them all back this week and I have continued everything. So, does anyone have a good reason for me. Do you think I am exercising to long and that I am gaining muscle? Who knows, I know I was a bit frustrated after being so happy about the loss. What I have learned from it all-don't let the scale control your success, let the way your clothes fit instead. Okay enough from me already because we all know I could talk for hours. Love you all!! Oh yeah, I have a goal for someone (Nicole) make a blog for me.

Last two days to add to the Letterman top 10. If any of you have any comments please add your favorite regarding the trip. I haven't heard from any of the Peck's from down south? Your computer must be frozen, or maybe you are spending too much time working out or going to the bathroom. I also haven't heard from Julia, and she is always good for a laugh.

One of the most memorable moments was trying to encourage Seth's (pretty much dead)turtle to get out in the water and be washed away so he thought it was free--otherwise it wouldn't have been a good memory for him. I loved the creative names of the turtles.
I loved that we drank enough virgin Pina Colladas (sp?) and the virgin Miami Vices that the waiters would just nod and not question the "no alcohol" as they did at first.
I thought the New Year's Eve party was great and eating all the grapes for the new year was interesting, though I didn't make a wish for each one.
I loved playing with and watching all the little blonde haired kids at the pool and holding all the babies.
I was very glad I didn't need to go to the doctor.

Natalie...even if you have added some muscle weight it will help you out in the long run. You're body burns 40% more calories when you are working your major muscle groups. Don't get discouraged. It could always be worse, check out the pictures of me on my blogspot if you need to feel better about yourself!

Okay, so as for posting the top ten, I am drawing a major blank. Oh yes, remember when Matt Warnick was diving into the pool and his trunks came off. Good thing he was wearing his back-up speedo underneath!!! Matt, pink leopard is your color!! Yep, that was pretty funny!

I have to agree that Papa's trip to the doctor was about the funniest thing I had heard. Also, the marvelous Disney show which I'm sure the hotel paid royalties in order to put on!
One of the most memorable moments for me was watching the little girls (Anna, Cara, and Abigail) dancing in the lobby bar. It just brought back so many memories of Mazatlan and us girls dancing around every night. The turtles were also a huge highlight.

Jim and Jennie may not get this added to the top 10 memories list, but I think it is noteworthy - Caleb eating the battery from the flashing light that was in our drinks on New Year's eve. Check out Jim and Jennie's blog to see! Tomi

I am the biggest loser when it comes to thinking of something funny. But you wouldn't believe what happened to us when we were going through customs to get back in the United States. We flew through Houston and there were HUNDREDS of people in line and we were really worried about catching our next flight home dragging four kids a stroller and twice as much luggage throught the swarms of people when the security dog which was sniffing PAST everybody elses luggage stopped at ours, going nuts over something in a bag in the bottom of the stroller, which happened to be a stow away apple, Which got us a nifty colored folder with some sort of report in it sending us on to another line to have everything x-rayed and questioned. Ya all can only imagine Mike's reaction. Needless to say we ended up running to catch the flight only to find that the bag that had our passports, ID and boarding passes was missing but in which line or checkpoint who knew. Happy ending it had gotten stuck in one of the security tunnels and they sent it to our flight gate just in time, but only after Mike ran laps through the entire wing of the airport.

Well I tried to leave a comment but after typeing a big long story, I can never get my password to work and it erased everything. So I guess no points for me. You all are doing awesome, I failed misserably on the sugar thing, I found out on Monday that I live on sugar, I was starving and caved by 11:30a.m. Maybe this week I can do 5 out of 7, it was the NO SUGAR that sent me spiraling.

I hope it isn't too late to post something. My most memorable was watching Cara the morning after her accident. She was being so careful with her foot. She decided to go swimming with "the man with no hair". She got in the water, got her foot completely wet, but as soon as she got to the island in the middle, her foot came popping right out of the water and she wouldn't put it back in. It was pretty cute.
