7 Musts to lose weight

1. Cut sugar out of your diet.
2. Reduce size of portions.
3. Always eat breakfast.
4. Never let yourself go hungry, it slows down your metabolism.
5. Do not eat after 8:00pm and only eat proteins and vegetables after 7:00pm.
6. Drink a minimum of 64oz. of water daily.
7. At least 30 minutes of exercise daily.

Remember weight loss is created in the kitchen, not the gym!

I weighed in at 183lbs on Jan 2, 2008 (suprisingly only 2 lbs heavier than before the trip to Mexico). What great family websites the Rees and Hadleys have. Our blog is at "jimnjennie.blogspot.com" (would you mind listing it with the others?) Its not very polished or up to date, but I'm motivated to work on it after seeing the other family blogs. Good Luck everyone.

oh... we gotta add... NO EATING FRIED FOODS!!! I know thats hard to get our hands off those delicious mcdonalds fries. But fried foods are filled with trans fat that is nearly impossible to lose. FRIED FOOD = DEVIL

Jim-I'm excited to see you have a blog. I added it to the others.

So I weighed in today. I actually lost 2lbs. But I already had a strong advantage over most of you because I had the lovely experience of walking the Mexico City Airport for 5hrs. and then running through all three airports on the way home to catch our flights. I think that definitely helped.

It's not that I want to lose weight, I just want to get toned. Anyone have any suggestions on getting the after baby pouch toned. Would love to hear if you do. Nicole

Reiley, why would you suggest things to make this more difficult. Are you trying to kill me here. No, your right Mc Donalds fries are the best thing next to Mtn. Dew which I know is coming as a challenge to me here sooner than later. So, Shane if you want Matt to work some serious overtime because he doesn't want to be home with his wife then cut out the soda pop and fried foods because I will be a beast for a while. Really thoguh, my body will be jumping for joy.

You mean the "7 musts to gain weight" I do all 7 religiously, no wonder I have a problem. I'm so out of it I only found out what a blog was about a month ago. Maybe I will make that my midyear resolution, until then I will just enjoy looking at all of yours!! They look GREAT and are really fun to read. Happy drinking and exercising everyone, (I guess drinking half our weight in pina coladas doesn't count? Dang - I just bought Mike a nice blender for his birthday.)

I have drank 128 oz of water 3 out 4 of last few days. It was hard to drink that much on fast sunday. It really isn't that bad, infact the only bad day is the first day and then you body adjusts. Also, it really helps curb your appetite. With my schedule the 5 hrs is going to be hard, but I am taking my gym clothes to Montana today so I can go to the Gym tonight. Good luck everyone.

Nicole-
You probably already know this but the best thing for the tummy pouch that I have found is to lay on your back with you feet strait in the air and lower them 45 degress and then bring them back up. If it starts to hurt your back don't lower them quite so far. This is the only thing I know of that totally focuses on the lower abs. Crunches are more upper abs.
Good luck,
Ranae

Kelsey gave me two bottles of pickled aspargus for a Christmas gift. I have the bottle in the fridge and when I get the munchies I eat some of the aspargus. The entire bottle has only 90 calories. The sodium content is a little high, but it tastes better than a carrot and has less calories, and alot better than cheese and meat. Just an idea that works for me
