Ranae-spotlight of the week
(Halloween 2003)
So I just wanted everyone to know that I'm using pictures that I have. I hope Ranae doesn't hate me after I post these, but I think these are great- plus they help to show her fun personality. Can't wait to see all of your thoughts about Ranae.
(Dude Ranch 2004)
Thanks everyone for posting about Randy. I had a lot of fun reading your favorite memories and I hope he got a chance to read them too. Lets keep the fun going.
Love, Nicole

I think one of my favorite memories was when Ranae and Shane got married. I loved their wedding, and maybe that has a little to do with why I too had my reception at the Lion House. Another great thing about Ranae was watching her with her parents. I could tell she loved them dearly and she seemed to always speak so kindly of them. I also loved her name when I was little. I was so excited because my first Cabbage Patches name was Ranae. Last-I'm always impressed how she gives everything a try. She's always up for anything and likes to have fun and experiment new activities. Thanks for being a fun aunt. Nicole

I could say a lot of things about Ranae, but I think that Nicole was right on about Ranae being adventurous(unless cold water). Ranae will snorkel, hike, ski, golf, tennis, zip line, trapeze etc. Ranae learned to golf so she could spend time with me. Ranae, Connor, Garrett and myself have spent a number of evenings golfing and eating dinner, not because Ranae loves to golf but because she loves to spend time with her family. Ranae is very supportive of her kids in all of their activities. We have spent countless hours going to games, cheer contests, dance recitals, school activities etc. Our schedule is geared around the kids and their activities, I do not think that Kelsey meant to say vicious, but maybe intense, or tenacious. When we got married Ranae could barely hit a tennis ball over the net. Now Ranae can compete with Tidwell 11 and 111. I would play tennis with her more, but she would kick my fanny and my pride can’t take getting beat by a woman. Ranae loves family activities and some of her favorite vacations have been the Peck Family vacations(with the exception of the bus ride). The thing I like the best about Ranae is her putting up with by type “B” personality when I know it drives her crazy. Also, Ranae is nicer to my family than I am which I also like. Glad to have part of the Peck family, she definitely adds some class, but with Randy, Cory and myself, adding class is not to hard. I love you
Shane

My mom can be quite feisty at times. One time she was at a basketball game and the man behind her was being a loud potty mouth and she didn't like it. I'm sure her team was losing which made her even madder. At the end of the game she turned around and whacked him with her purse. Another time she was at a football game and it was a BYU vs. Utah game. Some Utah fan had one of those foam hands and had ripped off all the fingers except the middle one. Well, she decided to go down, grab the hand from him, and rip of the remaining finger. She gets quite into sports and just can't handle the suspense. During the Jazz playoffs she can be found wondering the halls because her nerves just can't take it. She also brings ear plugs for whoever has to sit in front of her because she is so loud. She's quite the funny lady. You're great mom!! I LOVE YOU!

Ranae is the family cheerleader. It doesn't matter what your involved in, she is always enthusiastic and supportive. I love how Ranae isn't afraid to try anything. She was the activity coordinator in Mexico, whenever I wanted to know what there was to do, I would find Ranae. It was so fun to watch her join the "Conga" line with all of the girls in Mexico. You are so much fun to be around. I love you.

I remember Shane and Ranae's wedding vividly--I was the pregnant one in the pink dress. We got to pick our own dresses, just within the color- so I liked the dress, just not me in the pictures being large.
I love Ranae's creativity. The peck's always have the BEST Halloween costumes. She is always willing to do anything (except water fight)--whether it is trapeze or carving pumpkins. I wish I had the energy of Ranae, she is always on the move--usually, as Shane said, supporting someone somewhere. I love your sense of humor. You are a great mom, friend and sister (in-law). LOve you, Tracy

I remember when Shane and Ranae were dating, they came to the 24th of July party and Ranae locked herself in the car during the waterfight. Cory put me (7 or 8 years old) on top of the car with a bucket of water and told me to stay there until she came out. Jennie and I have always looked up to Ranae and Shane. We hope to stay as active and youthful as they have. I sometimes wonder: Is Ranae perfect? or does her ability to golf and play tennis just hide every flaw?

I will always remember when Shane and Ranae took my sisters and I to see E.T. We were all a bit scared and I think Ranae spent half her time in the foyer. I also very vividly remember their wedding. I remember Laqua (the cat?) and roller skating around their old condos. But leave it to Ranae to always show up with that tape. You know the one that embarasses us girls where we're singing and dancing and making fools of ourselves. Thanks Ranae for always keeping it lively and letting your energy become contagious!

I have had the privledge of spending a lot of time at the Peck's house. Not anymore, but for a time...
Ranae is a great friend of mine! She's always supportive and concerned about me and what's going on in my life. I remember after she found out I was pregnant she told my mom something like that little baby will be lucky to have me as a mom because I would love it so much! During such a hard hard time that was one of the best things I could've heard. I will never forget that!
I have a ton of fun memories watching the kids and then having Ranae and Shane come home to chit chat with!
Also, thanks Ranae for your willingness to help with Ty when I have to pop into work! In no way, shape or form should you feel like you need to so I really appreciate it!!! Love ya Ranae :)

I think and have always thought that Ranae doesn't give herself enough credit when it comes to having creativity. The above Halloween picture is a perfect example. Throughout the years as I have seen her come up and make the many costumes for her kids and the rest of the family is a perfect example that she has a great deal of creativity. I have often thought she should have forgotten the teaching school idea and been a costume designer. I look forward to the Halloween parties wondering what Ranae will come up with.

Also, a memory of Ranae is "The Wedding". Thanks for the support you gave me in planning and pulling off a low budget wedding that did not appear that way. Even though we were in deep "doo doo" for doing it -- I will always believe we did the right thing. We should have been low budget wedding planners. Thanks for tolerating me as a sister-in-law for all of these years!!

I will forever be indebted to Ranae for letting me borrow the best 70's outfit ever! You should see this thing--black spandex one-piece jumpsuit with huge red roses all over it. I would love to see a picture of Ranae in that outfit!

Renae I remember your wedding as one of the last family activities we attended before we left for Central America. Then we only got to see everyone once a year. So it took us a while to get to really get to know you. I do remember the water-fights not being your favorite thing. I have always been so impressed with how adventurous and go-getter you are. Whenever we've gone on trips, you've got the scoop on all the fun things to do and where to go. You've always had the energy to do them all too. You are always so upbeat and fun to be with. What a fun Mom you've been. Now you'll put us all to shame as the young active fun Grandma. Love - Tomi
