Lets Take an Old Fashion Walk

Alright everyone who is dying to start the competition again here it goes. I am going to try something new and see if you all like it. It only has to do with exercising. Next week I'll start something having to do with eating healthy.

This week everyone needs to walk/run/jog at least 5 miles. I know that 5 miles isn't a lot but keep on reading. Every week we are going to add on a mile until we are all walking/running/jogging around 15 miles a week. I figure if we just add it slowly it won't be as hard. If anyone has a better idea let me know. Once we get into the higher amount of miles you can count walking around the store or your house, as long as you have a pedometer to keep track of how far you have actually walked.

Good luck to everyone who is going to participate. We will come up with some sort of competition with a reward soon.

Anyone left?

So is there anyone out there besides Natalie and me that want to keep on doing this biggest loser thing? Since we stopped with the goals I have gone back to eating crap and not exercising like I should be. What happened to everyones motivation in Mexico? Don't you remember how we were all complaining that we needed to loose weight and how this was going to be the year we did something about it? Well, talk isn't enough. You can talk all you want to about loosing weight but unless you do something about it nothings going to happen. A few of us are still going to do this challenge and I invite anyone else who reads this blog to join in. It not only is a great way to loose weight and stay healthy but it keeps the family in touch. I feel like I know some of my cousins better since the blogging started than ever before.

CONGRATS TO NATALIE!!

So Natalie is officially the biggest loser! She has been working the hardest at these goals and it has paid off. Not only has she lost weight but she will now be able to go and see her sister in Memphis for free!! Jocelyn and Alyson both got out this round leaving Natalie left to claim her prize. Good work Natalie. We could all use a little bit of your motivation. This week we will have off from the goals but will start again with a new competition next week.

Another Contest!!

The contest is to pick the two teams that are going to be in the finals of the NBA playoffs. Pick the team that will win and pick how many games they will have played to win the championship. The minimum would be 16 games and the maximum 28.

I think it's going to be the Celtics and the Lakers. The Celtics will win and it will have taken them 24 games to do it.

The winner once again will get a $25 gift certificate. If you live somewhere where they don't have a target pick a different gift certificate you would like.

Natalies Goals

This week the goals are brought to us by Natalie. I don't know how many people are actually still doing the goals but I know at least 4 people are and 3 of those are still in the contest.

1. The water goal again

2. No fried food

3. 5 out of the 7 days you need to walk at an incline for 30 minutes or more.

Good luck to all you left in the competition still!

AND THE WINNER IS...

MINDY!!
Mindy won the contest for guessing the Jazz record. She guessed it exactly. The Jazz were 54-28, 1st in the northwest and 6th best record for the west. Congratulations Mindy! The runner ups were Lindsey and Natalie who also guessed 54-28 but didn't get the record placement right.

Brought to you by Jocelyn

This week Kelsey put me in charge of the goals. I am sad to know that not everyone is still participating, because it helps to know that when I'm doing the goals there are many others out there doing them with me. For those of you are still in it, YOU ROCK!! The goals this week are...

1. The water goal again. I have been doing this goal faithfully since day one and I am happy to say I have lost 10 pounds. It works, I promise.

2. Exercise 3 hours this week. That's easy, all you have to do is work out 30 minutes a day.

3. No bread 5 out of the 7 days.

Good luck everyone!

Brought to you by...

Papa and Grandma! They came over to my house tonight for dinner and they came up with these goals. Papa came up with the exercise one and Grandma with the food. Papa says that if you follow his goal for the rest of your life its all the exercise you will ever need.

1. Exercise every other day. 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening.

2. Only whole grains this week. That includes cereal!

Go ahead and comment on this post if you did last weeks goals as well. I think we are only down to 2-3 people in the contest still.

Monday, March 31

Alright once again everyone has 3 days to post whether or not they did the goals for the week. I know so far that Natalie, Alyson, Jocelyn, and myself did the goals. Who else is participating.

Goals and Stuff

So I have been talking to Mike and by looking at a few comments I've decided to give everyone Sunday off. Don't worry about doing any of the goals on Sunday (unless you want to and then great!) So from here on out Sunday is your day of rest. If you happen to get on the blog today you lucked out because today you can eat sugar if you want and don't have to do your sit-ups. This also means that some of the goals might start getting a little harder.
I also think that there has been some confusion about the contest that is going on. In order to win the contest for the airline tickets you need to do the goals every week. If you only do 2 of the 3 goals of the week you are out of the contest. That doesn't mean you should stop doing the goals. I think my dad wants to have another contest that will involve the final results for everyone. We are just going to see who can go the longest doing ALL the goals without breaking for this contest.

With all that in mind here are the new goals for March 31-April 5.

1. Work out at least 3 hours this week. Walking to and from your car, around the house, or at work doesn't count. This has to be an actual time that was set aside to "work-out."

2. 5 fruits and/or veggies a day. This is a goal I think we should all still try to do on Sunday.

3. No Caffeine or Carbonation 5 out of the 7 days. For this goal if you would rather take a different day off then Sunday that's fine.

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. My dad comes back in town tomorrow and he'll be back to help with goals. Any ideas for goals, please feel free to post them.

Monday, March 24

3 Days!

Alright everyone has 3 days to either post that they did the goals or e-mail me that they did the goals. I don't think many people are participating in this anymore and that's too bad. The ones who are participating are going to blow everyone away at the Christmas party with their new bods!

Sunday, March 23

Goals

Goals for March 24-March 30

This week is going to be a little different. I have a few goals that maybe some people won't be able to do so I'm going to let people pick. Here are a list of 4 goals. Everyone needs to pick 3 of the 4 goals they would like to do. If you want to be extra good do all 4!

1. Walk, run, or jog at least 10 miles this week.

2. Do 75 sit-ups a day

3. No sugar ( I figure after Easter we could all use this one)

4. No fast food

Tomorrow I will put up a post for everyone to comment if they achieved the goals this week. Also whomever is participating in this contest needs to comment on this post which 3 goals they are going to do.

Monday, March 17

Free Tickets!!

I knew you wouldn't be disappointed the prize is...

2 sky saver tickets on delta or 50,000 miles! Basically 2 people could fly anywhere in the country for free if you planned ahead.

Here are the rules. At the end of each week you have 3 days to comment whether or not you achieved the goals. If you do not comment then we assume that you did not do the goals. Good luck everyone and hopefully this prize will motivate many.

Competition

Alright here is our first competition. We are going to see who can go the longest doing ALL the goals. It may take awhile to find a winner but that's okay. At the end of each week I'll have a post for everyone to write whether or not they accomplished the goals. The person who goes the longest doing all the goals wins. The winner will receive a prize from my dad. I don't know what it is but knowing my dad I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Sunday, March 16

Goals

March 17th-24th
Alright, here they are. The new goals for next week. This week because it is Easter I'm going to be a little nice.

#1. We are going to do the water goal again. However, you need to drink half your body weight BEFORE we started the competition. For most of you that only means an extra glass of water a day (Mindy, you are excluded from that rule if you want).

#2. Exercise this week for 4 hours. While exercising this week 2 hours needs to include weights. That doesn't mean you need to do heavy lifting but at least some weight bearing exercise. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn!

Have fun and HAPPY EASTER!

Weight Loss

We haven't heard how much weight people have lost since January. I would like everyone to post, #1 how much weight you have lost since the loser contest started and #2 how much weight you still want to loose.

Hello?

So it seems to me that my dad has decided to stop this whole biggest loser contest. Well I have decided to bring it back! I really liked having goals that I had to follow and that I felt like everyone else was following as well. I am only going to have 2 goals a week and am not going to keep track of points. For me the point thing didn't really matter. What mattered was that I was loosing weight and eating healthier. I will post the goals on Sunday and they will start on Monday. I know my dad said a lot of people were complaining (mainly my mom) but I don't live near anyone anymore so complain all you like. Also, you don't have to participate if you don't want to, but for those who do just imagine how great you'll feel at family parties knowing you are looking "HOT!" I am open for any ideas for goals so please e-mail me or post them. Eat all the crap you like for the rest of the week. Sunday we start...

THE PECK BIGGEST LOSER AGAIN!!

Monday, March 3

Goals for the week of March 3rd

I am sick to death of hearing Ranae complain about our weekly goals, and I know you are all sick to death of being told what you can and cannot eat. Therefore, we are having only 2 goals this week, and they will be of your own choosing!

1. One goal should focus on diet
2. The other goal should focus on exercise.

By now, each of us knows what we are struggling with, so still try to push yourselves a little. I would like everyone to post your goals so the rest of us can be inspired by your dedication, and hopefully you will have a little more incentive to reach your goals. Consider this week your spring break.

This week's goals---

The goals for this week come from Kelsey. Since she is moving on Sunday, we will try to humor her by going along with these.

1. Exercise 1/2 hour DAILY (except for Sunday, our day of rest.)
2. No adding salt to anything and no eating salty foods (chips, popcorn, pretzels, etc.) Mr. Dash is an acceptable salt substitute.
3. Redo on the 5 fruits and veggies daily.

Good luck and keep plugging away!

Utah Jazz contest- winner $25 Target gift card

I know that your are all Utah Jazz fans, so this contest should be easy for all of you. Currently the Jazz have a record of 34 wins and 19 losses. The Jazz have 29 games left. Guess the final win loss record for the Jazz. The total needs to add to 82 games. The tie breakers will be to guess what place (1-5) they will be in the Northwest division, and what place(not seeding) they will be in the Western Conference(1-15). Good luck. You must post your guesses by Thursday Feb 21st.

Goals for the week of Feb 18 - 24 are:
1. 1/2 body weight in ounces of water

2. 4 hrs exercise during the week

3. no second helpings.

This weeks goals were furnished by Alyson, next week will be Kelsey

Another Shauna update. We saw her again tonight. She looks great, and aside from the drainage tubes in her abdomen that are driving her crazy, her pain is manageable. They are keeping her pretty medicated, but still she's amazing. They told her the drainage tubes would come out tomorrow, and she is very anxious for that to happen. If all goes well, she may be able to go home on Sunday, or more realistically, Monday. Just thought you might like to know.
