Family Spotlight

So Kelsey asked if I (Nicole) would help her out with the blog. I kind of fell behind at helping. I racked my brain trying to come up with something fun and then I realized we should do family spotlights once a week. Instead of me telling about that person I want all of you to tell us your favorite memory, thought, story, etc. about that person. We will just do the first 3 generations. I don't think the great grand kids would have much to say. But if they do-include it. I will draw the names from a hat. The first person I chose is drum roll.....RANDY. I'm sure he'll love the comments.
(Cassie, will you make sure he reads this)

6

This week everyone should be walking/running/jogging 6 miles. I have talked to a few people who weren't able to walk the 5 miles last week. That is okay! This new thing we have going here is easy to start whenever you want. If you can't do all the miles one week that's okay. Just try to walk/run/jog as much as you can. Once we hit a certain number of miles each week we will get into some sort of competition that involves a prize. I was just trying to make it easier for everyone by slowly getting into the routine. If anyone is confused or has any questions please let me know. Good job to everyone who did the 5 miles last week. Cassie walked 13 miles and I know she doesn't need to loose any weight, so good work Cassie!

Lets Take an Old Fashion Walk

Alright everyone who is dying to start the competition again here it goes. I am going to try something new and see if you all like it. It only has to do with exercising. Next week I'll start something having to do with eating healthy.

This week everyone needs to walk/run/jog at least 5 miles. I know that 5 miles isn't a lot but keep on reading. Every week we are going to add on a mile until we are all walking/running/jogging around 15 miles a week. I figure if we just add it slowly it won't be as hard. If anyone has a better idea let me know. Once we get into the higher amount of miles you can count walking around the store or your house, as long as you have a pedometer to keep track of how far you have actually walked.

Good luck to everyone who is going to participate. We will come up with some sort of competition with a reward soon.

Anyone left?

So is there anyone out there besides Natalie and me that want to keep on doing this biggest loser thing? Since we stopped with the goals I have gone back to eating crap and not exercising like I should be. What happened to everyones motivation in Mexico? Don't you remember how we were all complaining that we needed to loose weight and how this was going to be the year we did something about it? Well, talk isn't enough. You can talk all you want to about loosing weight but unless you do something about it nothings going to happen. A few of us are still going to do this challenge and I invite anyone else who reads this blog to join in. It not only is a great way to loose weight and stay healthy but it keeps the family in touch. I feel like I know some of my cousins better since the blogging started than ever before.

CONGRATS TO NATALIE!!

So Natalie is officially the biggest loser! She has been working the hardest at these goals and it has paid off. Not only has she lost weight but she will now be able to go and see her sister in Memphis for free!! Jocelyn and Alyson both got out this round leaving Natalie left to claim her prize. Good work Natalie. We could all use a little bit of your motivation. This week we will have off from the goals but will start again with a new competition next week.

Another Contest!!

The contest is to pick the two teams that are going to be in the finals of the NBA playoffs. Pick the team that will win and pick how many games they will have played to win the championship. The minimum would be 16 games and the maximum 28.

I think it's going to be the Celtics and the Lakers. The Celtics will win and it will have taken them 24 games to do it.

The winner once again will get a $25 gift certificate. If you live somewhere where they don't have a target pick a different gift certificate you would like.

Natalies Goals

This week the goals are brought to us by Natalie. I don't know how many people are actually still doing the goals but I know at least 4 people are and 3 of those are still in the contest.

1. The water goal again

2. No fried food

3. 5 out of the 7 days you need to walk at an incline for 30 minutes or more.

Good luck to all you left in the competition still!

AND THE WINNER IS...

MINDY!!
Mindy won the contest for guessing the Jazz record. She guessed it exactly. The Jazz were 54-28, 1st in the northwest and 6th best record for the west. Congratulations Mindy! The runner ups were Lindsey and Natalie who also guessed 54-28 but didn't get the record placement right.

Jazz Playoff Tickets

If anyone is interested, we have 2 playoff tickets to each home game! They cost $25 each and will be somewhere in the upper bowl. But for those of you that have been to a playoff game, you know they are worth every penny! They are FUN! If you are interested, comment or contact any of the Shane Peck family members!!

Brought to you by Jocelyn

This week Kelsey put me in charge of the goals. I am sad to know that not everyone is still participating, because it helps to know that when I'm doing the goals there are many others out there doing them with me. For those of you are still in it, YOU ROCK!! The goals this week are...

1. The water goal again. I have been doing this goal faithfully since day one and I am happy to say I have lost 10 pounds. It works, I promise.

2. Exercise 3 hours this week. That's easy, all you have to do is work out 30 minutes a day.

3. No bread 5 out of the 7 days.

Good luck everyone!

Sunday, April 6

Brought to you by...

Papa and Grandma! They came over to my house tonight for dinner and they came up with these goals. Papa came up with the exercise one and Grandma with the food. Papa says that if you follow his goal for the rest of your life its all the exercise you will ever need.

1. Exercise every other day. 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening.

2. Only whole grains this week. That includes cereal!

Go ahead and comment on this post if you did last weeks goals as well. I think we are only down to 2-3 people in the contest still.

Monday, March 31

Alright once again everyone has 3 days to post whether or not they did the goals for the week. I know so far that Natalie, Alyson, Jocelyn, and myself did the goals. Who else is participating.

Sunday, March 30

Goals and Stuff

So I have been talking to Mike and by looking at a few comments I've decided to give everyone Sunday off. Don't worry about doing any of the goals on Sunday (unless you want to and then great!) So from here on out Sunday is your day of rest. If you happen to get on the blog today you lucked out because today you can eat sugar if you want and don't have to do your sit-ups. This also means that some of the goals might start getting a little harder.
I also think that there has been some confusion about the contest that is going on. In order to win the contest for the airline tickets you need to do the goals every week. If you only do 2 of the 3 goals of the week you are out of the contest. That doesn't mean you should stop doing the goals. I think my dad wants to have another contest that will involve the final results for everyone. We are just going to see who can go the longest doing ALL the goals without breaking for this contest.

With all that in mind here are the new goals for March 31-April 5.

1. Work out at least 3 hours this week. Walking to and from your car, around the house, or at work doesn't count. This has to be an actual time that was set aside to "work-out."

2. 5 fruits and/or veggies a day. This is a goal I think we should all still try to do on Sunday.

3. No Caffeine or Carbonation 5 out of the 7 days. For this goal if you would rather take a different day off then Sunday that's fine.

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. My dad comes back in town tomorrow and he'll be back to help with goals. Any ideas for goals, please feel free to post them.

Monday, March 24

3 Days!

Alright everyone has 3 days to either post that they did the goals or e-mail me that they did the goals. I don't think many people are participating in this anymore and that's too bad. The ones who are participating are going to blow everyone away at the Christmas party with their new bods!

Sunday, March 23

Goals

Goals for March 24-March 30

This week is going to be a little different. I have a few goals that maybe some people won't be able to do so I'm going to let people pick. Here are a list of 4 goals. Everyone needs to pick 3 of the 4 goals they would like to do. If you want to be extra good do all 4!

1. Walk, run, or jog at least 10 miles this week.

2. Do 75 sit-ups a day

3. No sugar ( I figure after Easter we could all use this one)

4. No fast food

Tomorrow I will put up a post for everyone to comment if they achieved the goals this week. Also whomever is participating in this contest needs to comment on this post which 3 goals they are going to do.
