Hey Calorie Counters!

We are going to officially end the calorie counting contest this Saturday night at midnight

I'm sure all of you got Kelsey's email about final weigh-in's this Sunday.
The Christmas Party is Wednesday night and Papa, Kelsey and I need time to get prizes together.

Sometime Sunday please email me and let me know if you're still in and how many total pounds you've lost since calorie counting.
Don't forget to get your exercising in!

I'm so proud of you guys for hanging in there!
This has been a really hard but rewarding challenge. 108 pounds in 5 weeks is awesome.
It'll be fun to see what the final weight loss is.

I have enjoyed being your "Weight Watcher"
and am excited to see "Less Of You" at the Party!
Love,
Alyson

Cabbage soup

3 cups nonfat beef broth
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 cups chopped cabbage
1/2 of an onion chopped
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup green beans
1/2 cup chopped zucchini
1/2 teaspoons basil
1/2 teaspoons oregano
Salt & pepper

1.spray pot with non stick cooking spray and sauté onions, carrots,
and garlic for 5 min.
2. Add broth, tomato paste, cabbage, green beans, basil, oregano, and
salt & pepper to taste.
3. Simmer for 5-10 mini until veggies are tender then add zucchini and
simmer for another 5 min.

Makes 6 servings with 21 calories a serving

Jocelyn and I measured it all out after making it and we figured 1 cup was 24 calories. We would triple the recipe and keep in in our refrigerator and whenever we were hungry we reached for a bowl. I don't really like cabbage but I love this soup. Try it, I promise it is good!

Aunt Tracy

I'm not sure who even reads this, but since I'm the one updating the Peck Blog right now I wanted to make sure and post this.
Tracy fell at Papa's and broke her hip this morning.
She went to the hospital in an ambulance. She had surgery this evening.
I don't know any more details than that. Not good...not good at all :(
Keep her in your prayers.
If any one does read this and would like to send her a little note, her email add is:

The Rules Have Changed....

There's a new addition to this competition!
In addition to counting your calories, in order to stay in this competition,
you must exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes.
Papa defined exercise as, "Getting your heart rate up for 20 minutes." This could mean walking up the stairs for 20 minutes or jump rope and jumping jacks in place for 20 minutes. You could walk on the treadmill, or down the street, whatever. Just make sure your heart rate is up for 20 minutes and you're good!

Good Luck :)
